Energizing or sleepy?

Mostly energizing. Leafly rates it energizing, and its list of the 100 best strains puts it with the energetic ones.1,4 Versions bred from other parents are described differently: G13 Labs calls its indica-dominant Big Bud × Hawaiian Skunk relaxing as well as cerebral, and Barney’s Farm describes its Pineapple Chunk-based autoflower as calming and mellow (see genetics).7,9

Why two batches can feel different

Potency alone varies widely: one in ten lab-tested batches came in under 15.72% THC and one in ten above 23.40%.10 Add that the name covers seed lines with different parents, from Trainwreck × Hawaiian to Big Bud × Hawaiian Skunk and Pineapple × Lemon Kush, and two jars labelled Pineapple Express can hold noticeably different flower.1,7,11,12
